Perfect for scraps

Yellow awesome project! Found these cuties in the Yellow bird Yellow beard etsy shop. So cute and creative. I love all the mixed matched colors. Looks as though it is felt sandwiched between two fabric pieces. She even put magnets on the back so they can be used on boards and fridges. Super cute!

Garden update debunking a Pinterest epidemic

Ok so if you have been following me on Pinterest and on my Facebook page you know I have been gardening. It all started on regrowing items from kitchen scraps like celery, romain, mad green onions. Onions...working great. I trim as I need to and they are right on my kitchen window sill. Celery, I have about 5 going...they are growing, but its a long process with those...the romain?...not working much, yes it grows but I'm not sure it ever grows into the once big head of lettuce it once was. I can't find any success stories out there on regrowing romain. I guess you can at the small leaves. This one I have pictured is the biggest one I have. I have had it for almost 2 months. Most lettuce takes just about 1 1/2 months. I'm gonna rip these babies out and plant more greens that I have actually planted and are about ready to harvest from the little seeds. Soooo moral of this story...don't waste time with regrowing romain. It takes less time to grow from seeds.

Gardening for dummies...totally my thing!

I am an epic failure when it comes to growing even the simplest of garden produce. Herbs...failed...tomato plants that were already grown...fail...peppers...total fail. I even bought the wrong kind...thought I was getting bell peppers and they were pablanos. Oh dear! Then while scavenging through the plant based eating world on none other than Pinterest, I came across these amazing ideas! Seriously! Growing from produce that you have already bought! Cut the ends off your celery, green onion, romain, etc and instead of throwing it away, simply put in a bowl of water and watch it grow from the inner most center parts of the vegi. Celery can take a few months, but the lettuce is ready in a few short weeks...onions...can't remember. I will need to go back and read that pin again, but seriously get started on your kitchen windowsill and see how much you can get by without purchasing for a while. I will for sure keep you posted!
