Dutch Babies and Buttermilk Syrup

Have you ever made Dutch babies or Puff Pancakes?  Oh they are good and the kids think it is pretty awesome that they "grow" in the oven.  To even top it off, add Buttermilk Syrup.  Crack basically.  So good you may just want to drink it.  I always do a little bit.  My sister shared this recipe with me while we were staying at her house, so I though I would share it with you.

Buttermilk Syrup

1/2 cube of butter
3/4 + 3 Tbs sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons corn syrup
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla

Bring to a boil for a few minutes then add:
2 tsp Baking Soda
immediately remove from burner because is starts to foam.  let sit for a few minutes and let cool.  Then pour over your pancakes, waffles or french toast.  Refrigerate leftovers.  Reheat in microwave for leftovers.

Dutch Babies

Preheat oven to 400.  melt 1/2 cube butter in 9x13 glass dish in the oven while it is preheating.
in a bowl whisk:
6 eggs
then add:
1 cup flour
1cup mild
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
mix well then pour in casserole dish. return to oven and cook 20 minutes or until edges are puffed up and browned on the edges.

You will die and go to heaven.

ENJOY!!
